Frequently Asked Questions
Feel free to email me with any questions that could not be answered here.
Where do you work?
I am located at Heritage Tattoo Collective in Frederick, Maryland. I work by appointment only.
How do I book an appointment?
I book appointments through a booking request form. All booking Inquiries are submitted on the 1st of each month. I will update the 'book' page on the 1st of the month at 10 am with an application to request an appointment. This form will only be open for 12 hours.
Unfortunately, filling out this form does not guarantee an appointment. I am only able to book so many appointments in one month.
If your request is chosen, you will receive a booking link with a price estimate around 2 weeks after your form was submitted from this email; ArtworkbyGia@gmail.com.
Please check for extra letters in the email & beware of scammers. I only book appointments through Calendly.com & take deposits only through PayPal. I do not have an assistant & I do not take deposits through Zelle, Venmo, or Cashapp. Deposits are always $200 + taxes & fees. I do not take full payments before your appointment. I will never contact you first via TikTok or Instagram to book an appointment.
How much will my tattoo cost?
The cost of your tattoo will depend on the size, details & placement of your piece. I charge by the piece but my rate is based on $250/hr for smaller projects, $200/hr for large scale projects & I have a minimum of $150. All pet portraits begin at a flat rate of $500.
If you submitted a booking request & it was accepted, you will receive an accurate quote for your tattoo along with a link to book your appointment from this email; ArtworkbyGia@gmail.com.
If you would like a price estimate for a specific piece before submitting a request form, please email me with the following information
-size in inches
-placement on body
-design idea + any photo references
*this does not guarantee an appointment*
See Booking tab for more info.
Is a deposit required to book?
Yes, all appointments require a $200 deposit to secure your date. This will go towards the final cost of your tattoo. The deposit is non-refundable & can only be moved to a new appointment within at least 72 hrs notice. Information on where to send your deposit will be sent to you with your booking link. I only take deposits through PayPal via Calendly.com. I do not use Zelle, Venmo, Cashapp or any other third party app besides PayPal for deposits. I will never ask you for more than the deposit cost prior to the appointment. Please be careful of scammers.
How do I schedule a consultation?
I do not currently offer any in-person consultations. I use my tattoo request form to get all of the information needed for your design. From that information, I am able to create your one of a kind piece. All designs are drawn the week of or day of a scheduled appointment. No design will be sent out ahead of time. I always leave time in the beginning of the appointment to make any minor changes that you would like.
What if I need to cancel, reschedule or I've missed my appointment?
I am happy to reschedule your appointment as long as I am given at least 72 hours notice. I book 1-2 months out at a time, so your appointment will be rescheduled to my soonest available date. I will not reschedule farther than 2 months out.
Rescheduling within 72 hours of your appointment, cancelling, being 30+ minutes late, being under 18 years old, or no call no showing will result in you forfeiting your appointment slot and deposit. No call no shows will not be considered for rebooking.
Do you take walk-ins?
No. All of my appointments are booked through my request form or email. You can find any last minute openings or cancellations posted via instagram.
Will you tattoo a minor with parental consent?
No. You must be 18+ to be tattooed by me.
If my request was not accepted, does that mean you don't want to tattoo my idea?
Not necessarily. I tattoo one client a day & tattoo 16-20 days a month. I get anywhere from 50 to 200 requests a month so realistically, I can only accept around 20% of the requests I receive. Don't let this discourage you from getting the tattoo you want done by me. You are always welcome to email me & ask if your project is something I am interested in, although this still does not guarantee an appointment.
Here are some tattoos I will 90% of the time accept
- black & grey pet portraits
-micro realism (animals, people, objects)
-portraits
-fruit, plants, interesting butterflies
-multiple tiny tats or small patchwork style tattoos
& here are some ideas I am not interested in
-birth flower bouquets
-tiny tattoos (unless you are getting 3+)
-spiders
-monarch butterflies

What should I wear to my appointment?
Dress comfortably. Depending where your tattoo is, you want to make sure you are not wearing any restricting clothing. It is also preferred you wear darker clothes or clothes you don't mind getting any ink on.
Here are some ideas on what to wear for your tattoo placement
Sternum: Wearing pasties (I can provide them if needed) with a loose shirt is always your best option. There are shirts/bralettes that twist in the front which work great as well.
Ribs: Pasties or a stretchy bralette + loose shirt
Hip/Groin: String tie bikinis are the best for this area. You could also wear stretchy underwear + comfortable shorts/sweats.
Thigh/Leg: loose shorts (if its cold out just wear sweats on top)
Upper arm/Shoulder: Tank top/bandeau top
Back: Bring a flannel or zip up hoodie to put on backwards, this is the best method. You can also wear an open back top or loose t-shirt.
Do you offer free touchups?
Yes, I offer free touchups for tattoos I have done within the past 6 months.
If you wait longer than 6 months to schedule a touch up, you will have to pay a set up fee.
I do not touch up tattoos that are not done by me unless you are a returning client & we have discussed it in person.
